The Napa
Valley Unity
League is an
organization
whose
mission is
to enhance
the sense of
community
for Lesbian,
Gay,
Bisexual,
Transgendered
and
Questioning
(LGBTQ)
citizens &
their
families,
friends and
allies
through:
Social
Networking
The Napa
Valley
Unity
League
will
provide
a venue
for
LGBTQ's
and
their
supporters
to meet
one
another
through
regularly
scheduled,
formal
or
informal
social
gatherings.
Community
Service
By
performing
community
service
projects,
the Napa
Valley
Unity
League
will
gain
allies
in the
non-LGBTQ
community
and give
our
group a
greater
sense of
purpose
by
contributing
to the
common
good of
the
community.
Health and
Education
The Napa
Valley
Unity
League
will
raise
awareness
and
support
for
existing
HIV/AIDS
and
other
health-related
programs
that
serve
the
LGBTQ
community.
The Napa
Valley
Unity
League
will
become
the
principal
conduit
for
information
to the
community
regarding:
- services that are available to the LGBTQ community
- public education on LGBTQ issues
- services to LGBTQ and questioning youths
Social
Justice
The Napa
Valley
Unity
League
will
work to
ensure
that:
- the collective voice of the LGBTQ community is represented at the table when community decisions are made
- local governments are adopting and enforcing LGBTQ-friendly policies and practices
- the Napa Valley is a safe and friendly atmosphere for LGBTQ citizens and families
